About "Arrival" (5:34 min.)

After arriving in Theresienstadt, everyone must be registered and deliver all their valuables. Then, they are given a transport number, which is their identification from now on, and a yellow ’Jewish star’, which must be visible on their clothing at all times. Otherwise, they risk being shot. All the new arrivals are assembled and told that they have arrived in Theresienstadt. The six children are tired and hungry after a long, uncomfortable journey from Denmark. But when the food finally comes, it smells and looks so vile that they cannot eat anything. The prisoners from Denmark are shown to rooms and attics in the barracks, and there is nothing else to do than wait. There are prisoners from other countries in the rooms; some are sick and others dead. The place is teaming with lice and fleas. The cold is terrible.
